MLA Grants, Scholarships, and Fellowships – Due December 1, 2017

MLA offers a variety of funding opportunities to assist qualified students in graduate library science programs and to enable practicing health sciences librarians to pursue professional development.  Advanced education, professional development, travel grants, research awards and others are funded annually, with a due date of December 1, 2017.

Registration Open for 2017 GHSLA / AHSLC Joint Meeting

Registration is open for the 2017 joint meeting with GHSLA and AHSLC being held Thursday and Friday, March 30-31, 2017 at the Graduate Athens conference center and hotel.

The theme for this year’s meeting is “Creating Alliances / Strengthening Resources.”  We will have two days of activities, including round table conversations, two half-day CEs, business meetings for GHSLA and AHSLC and discussion about merging our organizations.

MLA Webinar at Emory, October 26 2016

Emory’s Woodruff Health Sciences Center Library will be hosting the MLA Webinar Designing Online Instruction: It’s Not Just for Distance Education Anymore, October 26th from 2 – 3:30 pm:

This webinar will teach you new and exciting ways to create online instructional materials for distance, blended, or even face-to-face sessions. The first part of the session will focus on defining different types of online instructional materials and strategies, while the second half will focus on “Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation” (ADDIE) and software programs for creating online videos. Participants will earn 1.5 MLA CE contact hours.

Biomedical Informatics Course – 2017

Augusta University and the National Library of Medicine (NLM) are pleased to announce that the application period for the NLM Georgia Biomedical Informatics Course for 2017 is now open. There is one application form for both the Spring (April 2 – 8) and Fall (Sept. 10  – 16) courses.
