Job Posting: Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine

Information Technology Librarian, Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM).  This position is designed to provide a fast track toward medical library leadership.   We offer a supportive library environment, one where mentorship is a top priority of the library director.

The ACOM is a new medical school beginning its second year in August 2014.  This is an excellent position for a medical librarian seeking an opportunity to start out on the ground floor in the development of a new and exciting digital library.  The Information Technology Librarian is responsible for delivering and providing leadership for the full range of library services, with a focus on technology.  Functions include managing the library website; managing the programs and applications that are required to make full use of and provide effective access to the digital resources of the library; and providing other user-service functions.  Relevant technology skills are required and further development of these skills will be supported.

Position requirements:

  • Master’s degree in library or information science (MLS or MSLS) from an ALA-accredited program.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant library experience.

Job Posting: Georgia Regents University

Scholarly Communications Librarian, Robert B. Greenblatt, M.D. Library, Georgia Regents University (GRU).  Reporting to the Chair of Content Management, the Scholarly Communications Librarian will be responsible for planning, implementing, and leading outreach activities promoting the institutional repository and other scholarly communication initiatives to include issues related to intellectual property and open access of scholarly output at the University. This position will also develop and provide a data management plan consultation services and participate in grant support for research faculty.  The successful candidate will provide best practice standards in the development of electronic theses and dissertations and coordinate efforts for new open access publications on campus.

Required: ALA-accredited master’s degree with a minimum of 2 years professional post-MLS experience or library equivalent experience.  The position has faculty rank and status (non-tenure track).

Job Posting: Supervisory Librarian, CDC Public Health Library and Information Center

The Center for Surveillance, Epidemiology and Laboratory Services  (CSELS) is recruiting for the position of Supervisory Librarian, GS-1410-14, located in the Division of Epidemiology, Analysis and Library Services (DEALS).
