Nominate a Colleague for the Lois Ann Colaianni Award for Excellence and Achievement in Hospital Librarianship

We want to recognize an exceptional, dynamic hospital librarian!  Is that one of your colleagues, or is it you?  Take a few minutes to recognize the person you feel is a visionary hospital librarian, and be sure to consider yourself for this award. Self-nominations are welcomed and encouraged.

This award recognizes a member of the Association who has made significant contributions to the profession through overall distinction or leadership in hospital library administration or service; production of a definitive publication related to hospital librarianship, teaching, research, or advocacy; or development or application of innovative technology to

hospital librarianship. This award was first presented in 1991, but in 1999 it was renamed in honor of Lois Ann Colaianni.

Job Posting: Director of Swilley Library and Associate Dean of University Libraries

Director of Swilley Library and Associate Dean of University Libraries.  Mercer University invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Dean of University Libraries and Director of the Monroe F. Swilley, Jr. Library on the Atlanta Campus. We seek an individual with an inclusive, collegial leadership style and strong communication skills to help guide the Swilley Library into the next generation of library services on a growing campus. With the adoption of a new institutional Mission Statement, the Director will help develop a new Strategic Plan for the University Libraries that will explore opportunities for innovation, collaboration, and resource sharing in support of Mercer’s mission.

Position is available as of July 1, 2013; review of applications will begin immediately; those received by June 7, 2013 will receive first consideration.

Job Posting: Clinical Informationist, Emory/St. Joseph’s Hospital

Reporting to the Head of Clinical Informationist Services, this Clinical Informationist (CI) will develop and deliver innovative clinical and nursing programs, services, and collections to physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff, based on the documented Clinical Informationist Services model. The person in this position will join a creative and user-oriented team of Clinical Informationists, partnering with them to provide consistent quality services at St. Joseph’s Hospital and designated branch locations. In addition to facility oversight at St. Joseph’s, the CI will provide a broad range of specific library services that include collection management, consultation, instruction,, assessment, and reference help.
